FOCUS ON THE PRICKLY PEAR
Prickly pear oil: what is it?
The prickly pear cactus grows in countries around the Mediterranean basin, particularly in the Maghreb, and in Latin America. Its fruit, the figs, are widely consumed in the Maghreb and are not only very juicy and fragrant, but they also have cosmetic properties. Berber women apply prickly pear oil to protect their skin from external aggressors such as wind and sun.
Prickly pear oil is rare and expensive; it takes about 1 ton of fruit to obtain 1 liter of oil, and harvesting it is arduous because the cacti grow very densely in semi-arid areas, making picking difficult in order to avoid the thorns.
The seeds are separated from the pulp, then dried and pressed to obtain prickly pear seed oil.
Its benefits for the skin
Prickly pear oil is one of the most effective in cosmetics because it is one of the richest in antioxidants. Rare and precious, it is nevertheless very little known.

Prickly pear oil: Our key ingredient
Considered one of the most expensive oils in the world, we chose this precious oil as a key ingredient in our La Parfaite serum and Fig solid cleanser because it doesn't clog pores; it's a dry oil that is quickly absorbed by the skin and leaves no greasy residue. On the contrary, it tightens pores, refines skin texture, and reduces the appearance of scars.
Its advantages: it adapts to all skin types. It's an exceptional anti-aging ally. It acts as a barrier against premature aging of the epidermis, prevents sagging skin, protects the skin from dehydration, and also contains a high concentration of Omega 6, sterols, and vitamin E, which promote the skin's natural repair process. Finally, its regulating action is also ideal for combination to oily skin.
